I’ve been shooting quite a few wedding photos starting from my previous co-worker Miguel’s wedding in Braga, Portugal last year. While I was going through some of the wedding photo archives, I decided to post a few shots from my first wedding photo shoot.

I was lucky to be able to travel all the way to Braga for my first wedding photo assignment as well as to have some time to travel around in Portugal and Spain while I was on that side of the world. The church Miguel got married is the oldest Portuguese sanctuary called Bom Jesus do Monte and it was one of the most beautiful churches I’ve even seen.

Anyway, here are a few photos from that wedding.

I’ve been working on Anyang Public Art Project so called APAP with Argentinean architect, Mauricio Corbalan, and we went to this abandoned market place in Bisan-dong, Anyang City, the other day to arrange a possible interview with this old couple who run a restaurant in an abandoned market place.

The lunch time was getting close, Mauricio and I ordered Konguksu, the only dish they serve in the summer. As we started small talks with them, the old couple offered us some beer and told us a bit about the market and their stories – how busy the market was when they started the restaurant back in December, 1971, how well their business went, and how they were able to make enough money to bring up and educate all of their four children.

Things started changing sometime last year since the city announced the re-development of the area. Most of the shops in the market closed the businesses and the market is almost abandoned now. There were still regular customers who come to reminisce the good old times, however, it doesn’t seem like it would last long enough.

Visiting the market place made me think once again, how quickly things change, and how closely our lives evolve with the changes of environments. It is sad that it’s not only the environment we lose when places disappear and it doesn’t seem like we realize what they are until we lose them.

While I was walking around in Chungmuro with John, we found this random toy camera shop called Toy Camera. Since the store is off the main street and also on the third floor on a rustic building, it might not be easy to locate if you don’t try hard enough, however, you’re good to go as soon as you see this door with a Lomo sign.

I’ve had a few toy cameras around but never had one I got super excited about. Diana+ was close enough but I never got to learn how to take decent shots with it. Then I thought I would give a try to Holga GCFN, the one with a glass lens unlike most of the toy cameras with plastic lenses. I was quite excited when I learned this shop had it, and had to go back to get one a few weeks later.

This shop has an extensive list of toy cameras as well as some nice films at good prices. If you’re into photography and look for some toys to play with, go to Chungmuro and check out this store. Definitely worth a try. The marketing manager of this shop, Justin, is a friendly guy and he speaks fairly good English as well so you will be fine even if you don’t speak Korean.

The address is 3F, 58-2, Chungmuro 3-ga, Jung-gu, Seoul and the phone number is +82(2)2285.5640.

I picked up an iPad a few days ago and I’ve been enjoying the amazing screen quality of this device. The main purpose of me getting an iPad was that, as I do more of freelance work nowadays, I thought it would be a great way to present my design and photography work to clients. Whatever they did to the screen of this device, it makes things look hundreds and thousands times better.

Anyway, I found sometime today to make some wallpapers for the iPad with some minimal photos I took in the past and wanted to share with you whoever out there want to have some decent wallpapers for your iPad. My boyfriend has been making wallpapers for desktops, laptops, iPhones, and iPads and sharing them on his website forever and built up his reputation for it. I thought I would make some to share as well while I enjoy looking at my photos on the iPad and hope you would enjoy as well.

These are more of thumbnails for you to see and if you want to download to use on your iPad, click here.

10×10 is one of my favorite stationary/ design stores in Korea. I was quite excited when I saw the sign of CAFE1010 while I was walking around the streets in Hongdae.

CAFE1010 is a cafe themed with travel. The entire experience at this coffee shop reminded me of being on an airplane – the receipt of purchased item looks like an airplane ticket, the menu items reminded me of in-flight meal, and their membership card is called passport.

Coffee tasted great here and you can purchase the cute mug they serve coffee with at their stationary/ design store. Although I didn’t get a chance to try their food, some of their sandwiches and light alcohol looked quite good as well.

They also have a few book shelves filled with travel/ photography books and magazines. The windows are decorated with airplane windows and travel destinations.

The huge red container on the doorway is their stationary/ design store filled with the brilliant 10×10 stationary/ design items. If you are lucky, you can get store discounts as well.

The grey and nostalgic weather yesterday reminded me of the day I was wandering around in Porto, Portugal. Such a lovely place to take a walk along the river, stop by at some random outdoor cafes for a glass of Port wine, get lost in allies where the buildings are tiled with beautiful Azulejo, and have a lovely dinner with a new friend at an awesome Moroccan restaurant by the river. I went through my photo archive to remember the days and wanted to share some of my favorite shots with you.
